The Department of History at USCOTEC is a pioneering academic unit, established as one of the early departments within the Faculty. The programme, introduced in 2023, stands as one of the Faculty of Social Sciences’ foundational postgraduate offerings. Its curriculum places strong emphasis on historical studies, historiography, and source analysis, with focused coverage on Sri Lankan history, ancient Indian historical thought, and the key political forces shaping modern Europe. This programme equips learners with in-depth subject knowledge while preparing them to undertake advanced research in selected fields of historical study.

Admissions Requirements
Should possess a Bachelor’s Degree (General/Special) from a recognized Un iversity in History or relevant subject area or any other academic or professional qualifications acceptable to the Senate of the U.S Campus of Sri Lanka.
